New Foods, NO!

I kind of got the impression at her 12 month appointment that her doctor did not think I was giving her enough variety. I told her she eats table foods, but not what we eat for dinner. I just usually make her deli turkey, cheese, plain noodles, fruit, veggies, etc. Well we had leftover spaghetti today so I let Natalie go to town at lunch.

This morning, I said "Come here Natalie" and as plain as day she said NO and did not move. Then later she picked up one of the dog bowls and said NO again. At least she knows she isn't supposed to play with those! The NO will get annoying, but it's kind of cute in the small little voice she uses.

LOL...did Miss N like her spagetti? And I can only imagine your expression when she told you "no" and didn't come to Mommy! I can't wait for your next trip this way so we can see your big girl!

Also, I was never more amused than when our oldest niece, Hannah, learned right from wrong and how to weigh the odds and make a decision. Sometimes she'd know she was choosing to do something wrong, do it anyway, and put herself in timeout!!! :-)

How are you feeling? Any better?

Mom says that "No" was Ryan's first word. Heh heh... it IS kind of cute, though and sometimes you have to catch yourself from laughing when they say "inappropriate" things... which WILL happen, btw. But anyway, it's fun to hear them say new things.

I have told Katie to and she said "eh," however, she does read them fairly often. Maybe we can wear down. That's how I got started!

I totally fed Mario a specific diet for him when he was that age, but I think it is so wise of your doctor to suggest the food you eat. It seems Joey was just easy b/c I'd either feed him exactly what everyone was eating or the kid version of it for MJ (MJ tries the fish we have, but prefers chicken so I make some of that for him).

And I can see how it is both cute and perhaps annoying that she learned the word "No." I think MJ's first word was "please" but that's because we encouraged him say it before he got any food (and the kid loved to eat)

I think i should also add that it seems the stuff I prepare for myself now is definitely more kid-friendly. Seeing as I'm outnumbered 2 kids to 1 adult 4 days of the week, I'm certainly not cooking the same as when there were 2 adults and 1 baby. (Basically, there was a reason I had a separate meal for MJ when he was a young kid). I talk too much...sorry.
