Dress

Here is Natalie in the dress. She wore it to church today. She was cute! It was so funny today. She has her babysitter, Allison who has watched her every Sunday night since she was about 6 weeks old, while we had bible study. Well, she saw her in the 2 year old room when we walked in and Natalie kept running to her saying "Alll-yiii" over and over. She cried everytime I picked her up to carry her to her room. She really loves her!

Sewing ''Machine"

Lately I've been way into being crafty. I saw on a board I visit that you can make a dress out of a pillowcase. So I found a template, dug out a pillowcase, and worked away. This pillowcase was from my great Aunt Dorothy, whose middle name my mom, myself and Natalie all share. This is going to look great on her! I have another pillowcase so I might make the next size up!

I had accidentally left the window open next to a burning candle and lit my shiny silver curtain on fire! Oops! This was about a year ago and I just got around to hemming the replacement curtains. Throw away all that fabric?? No way! Make Natalie a tutu? Sure!

Bagel for Breakfast

Here is Natalie eating a blueberry bagel for breakfast! She does NOT want me to tear bites for her. She just wants to do everything herself. I also tried to make a ponytail in her hair, but it doesn't work quite so well.

Girl's Night Out

I did kareoke for the first time last night! Here are a few pics of me out with my mommy friends. I went out so Ryan could do homework without me annoying him, and to have fun of course!

Sewing Project

Ryan has started wearing the new Air Force uniform, so I decided to recycle his old ones. I used his shirt to make a purse and I used his pants to make shorts for him. It was fun! I couldn't find a pattern, so I just made it up as I went along.

Junk Food

Try as I might, Natalie still gets a good share of junk food. At the spring fling yesterday Polly snuck her a cupcake when i wasn't looking. She went to town and ate the whole thing! At church today, we have hostesses that walk around with Krispy Kreme donut holes. Somehow she got 2 of those before I noticed what was going on. Everyone said they couldn't say no with her reaching out for them. At least she signs eat and more. I'm a sucker for her when she signs!

Spring Fling

My mommy group, www.tidewatermommies.com, had a Spring Fling party at the park today. Here's a shot of all the kids, and one of Natalie by herself. They did an egg hunt and Natalie was grabbing up eggs left and right. She sure caught on since the last time we did it at Easter. Polly snuck her a cupcake when I wasn't looking and she ate the whole thing and LOVED it!

Busch Gardens Recap

Here is Natalie meeting the dragon at Land of the Dragons. No fear! Although today at the farm she got bit by a turkey...so maybe she will be a little wary!

She rode the horses with daddy. She loved going up and down. She was only bored waiting for it to start, then she really enjoyed it.

Natalie rode Eggery Deggery with mommy. It was kind of like a ferris wheel. We had a great time on that ride too.

They had some big eggs to crawl in too. She couldn't get any traction with her shoes and kept slipping.

Finally she played in the water area for a bit. She was a little wary, and we had to change her into her pj's because her capris got wet.

Natalie at the Park

We had such nice weather today. It's been cool in the morning so I put her in the 24 month dress, obviously too big, but I thought it would make her legs warmer. It ended up being really hot, so she just looks like a little old lady. Here she is playing with her friends, well she is signing "eat" while they all chase bubbles. Even though she said bubbles all morning, food is always the most important to her. You can see I didn't make her wait long to get some crackers. We had fun.

We are going to meet some friends at Busch Gardens tonight so Natalie can go to Land of the Dragons. It's the kid's area, and she actually can go on some rides this year, yay! I will post pics of that this weekend.

Natalie enjoyed some nice weather outside yesterday. We took 2 walks in the wagon, played with bubbles (of course) and just waved to people walking by. All day Natalie asks about bubbles. She wants to do them all the time. Thank goodness we have the bubble blower because I don't think I could blow quite so many! I love this outfit, I had made the hairbows and finally found a shirt to put them with. I can't wait for her to wear them to the 4th of July party!

Susan and I had a great visit. It was sad to see her and baby Sean leave today. Natalie really tried to help. She would bring him a paci. Even though she was shy and grumpy from her 4 molars breaking through, we did get a few sweet moments.

Natalie loves her bubbles. Anytime I blow them she shouts, bubble bubble! She also noticed that her mermaid pj's have bubbles on them too so she is very excited. We are having to hide the bubbles because she wants them all the time.

Natalie and Sean

Wow, does she look big next to a 2 month old! I love that I can tell her to give the baby a kiss and she goes right to it! She did try to play on the playmat and sit in the bouncy seat. Her way of claiming her territory I guess. She didn't cling to me and yell 'mine' though when I held him!

Susan is such a great mom! Sean is just adorable and such a happy and good little boy! I'm so glad we are getting to spend time with them both!

Things Natalie Does

Everyday I am surprised at the things a 13 month old can do! I never realized she would be able to communicate so much and plan out things she wants to do.

* Last night she got the stepstool out of her room, brought it to the gate at the top of the stairs. She climbed on it and pushed the button to try to open the gate. That's a lot of planning! We've never even used the stepstool.

* She took her Backyardigans tv tray/table and moved it to the toy box bench. She climbed on the tray, up to the bench, and sat down to read a book!

* She says mommy, mine, daddy, doggy, baby, here you go, thank you, arf, quack, and probably a few more I am not understanding. She even can do the sign for elephant where she lifts her arm up and makes and odd squealing noise!

* She can go get shoes, cups, and books. She always remembers where she leaves things, which is better than her Daddy and I somedays!

* She finds any open door and closes it. Except for the fridge. Anytime that is open before you notice she has grabbed 2 salad dressings and made a run for the family room!

* She does not listen to no. However, if you tell her "Put it back" or "Give it back" or give her a direction of what to do instead, that works like a charm. Even for the dog food...still a problem!

I'll get some cute pictures of Sean and Natalie this week with Susan and give you some updates of our fun!

Dog Toys?

Natalie decided she should dump out all the dog toys and then sit in his toy box. She played with more toys in there for quite some time. You can see my her smile she was really enjoying it!

My Love Bug

I had some mommy friends over on Tuesday night to make hairbows for our little girls. I made these to match this lady bug outfit my friend Pam had handmade for her daughter, which she passed on to me. I think she looks adorable, but I may be biased!

Birthday Overload

We have had so many birthdays this month! Natalie, Daddy and I went to Chuck E Cheese for a party for the first time! Natalie played some games with Daddy, ate some pizza and cake, was not afraid of a giant Chuck E Cheese, and climed in the toddler area. It was fun!

We also celebrated Heather's birthday again at our weekly Wednesday night Mom's coffee. The Starbucks guy taking our picture was a riot!

Logan's birthday party was this week too! He is now a one year old like Natalie. She gave him a birthday kiss and enjoyed watching him tear apart his cake. He was a little upset with all the texture and papparazi, but eventually had a blast! More pics to come because we have another birthday on Sunday!
