Weekend

This weekend we went to a wedding for Courtney, a girl in our community group. We had a good time until we had to evacuate due to high levels of something. There were a ton of firefighters there. I felt so bad bc the reception had to be shut down about 1 -2 hours early.

Halloween

Drake was a Dallas Cowboy tonight at a Petsmart Halloween Contest. He didn't win, but he was cute and we had fun!

Kick!

Oh my gosh! Today I was laying on the couch, and I could feel kicks. So I put my hand down, because I usually only feel them inside, like little pops or explosions. But today, I could feel them from the outside! Then I had Ryan come lay his hand down and he felt it too. I'm so excited for him. Yay for baby girl!

Weekend

Ryan and I spent the weekend doing some crafty things for our baby's room. Ryan painted 2 shelves and a name sign. I sewed a slip cover for the chair, recovered a storage box (pink in the closet) and hung a new drape. We're getting more excited every day. Oh, and recent preggo pictures too.

20 Weeks

On Friday, I will be 20 weeks, or 5 months, or 1/2 way through my pregnancy! This is not a maternity shirt, but it shows off my belly. The kids really noticed today and they talked about it ALL DAY. "When is the baby coming?" "You're having a baby?" "Are you bringing the baby to school?" "I am excited to see the baby" and it goes on and on and on!

Birthday

My 25th birthday came and went. I got some really neat and thoughful gifts from family and friends. Ryan and I went out to dinner with friends from work. Then we spent the weekend at the Outer Banks in North Carolina with a couple from work at their time share. It was really relaxing. I enjoyed my quarter-century celebration and my last birthday as me. Next time, I'll be a mom!

Award Show

We spent our Friday night at an award show put on by our church, like a mock Oscars, for people who serve. Everyone gets all dressed up and they have heavy appetizers. It's a lot of fun!

Doctor

Apparently no finding out gender for us. The base will not do another ultrasound w/out medical reason. So unless we pay to go to an OB palce off the base, we probably will not get to find out. I didn't want to find out at first, then by the time I thought I might find out today, now I'm dissapointed I can't. We did hear the heartbeat, and noises of how much the baby is moving around. It kept flipping over (says the nurse) and moving all around. This time the HR was 150, last time it was 167, it must be growing!!!

New Toy

Ryan's new toy is here. He bought a slightly 'used' Honda CBR 1100 Superbike. His plan is to fix it and resell it when he is done. Looks like a lot of work, and that he's already enjoying it! I've seen a big grin on his face all day. (And a pic of his REAL baby!)

Mini-milestone

So at 17-18 weeks, today I couldn't get the bottom button of my denim jacket to close. Not that I ever wear it buttoned anyway, but it made me feel like I'm actually growing a belly (or a baby).

Half Marathon

Well, Ryan and I did it! He stayed with me. It was really hard the last few miles that we trucked along. My legs are super sore, as well as my feet. But I finished, and that's the important part. It took us 3 hours and 18 minutes. Not bad for walking (or being almost 5 months pregnant!). Plus if we ever decide to do it again, we'll definately beat our time! I made a shirt that said "Not Slow, Walking For Two". I got lots of congrats, and wow I can barely do it for one, and other such encouragement. So that made me happy.

17 week pic

Ryan said he can tell it is bigger by looking at the distance from my ab line on the side to the front of the bump. It is a growing a little...

Ernesto

So my last weekend of freedom is being started today by sitting in the house during this storm. Drake is hiding under the bed, he doesn't like the sound of the wind. Our 1/2 marathon is Sunday, so I don't know if this weather will affect it or not. There is lots of flooding around the area, none around us currently. It's supposed to be over around 2pm tomorrow. Maybe I'll take a new belly pic today since I'm trapped inside. I'm 17 weeks along tomorrow, which means I'm almost in the 5th month already! Time sure flies, well, most days I feel like it's going really slow...sorry this is so random.

Psychic

Madame Zaritska's reading: I found this on the internet...you answer a few random questions about your favorite color, how many rings you wear, the last animal you saw and things like that. Here's what she came up with!

What she senses for you
The day you deliver, outside will be cloudy. Your baby will arrive in the afternoon. After a labor lasting approximately 14 hours, your child, a boy, will be born. Your baby will weigh about 7 pounds, 15 ounces, and will be 19-1/2 inches long. This child will have light blue eyes and some blond hair.

Fun Day

We had a fun day at church yesterday. We meet at a YMCA because it's only been around for 3 years and we haven't been able to purchase a building/land yet. So last night we had a picnic and they shared the news with us that they purchased 26 acres of land. The coolest part is the land was on sale for 2.6 million dollars and the owner sold it to our church for 800,000 dollars. Amazing. Even better, we did baptisms at the river afterward, and a good friend of mine from work and her son were baptized along with a bunch of other people. It was really neat to see so many prayers answered yesterday.

Visit

Last week I went to Richmond to meet a friend from high school, Tricia, and her son Mario. We had a good time hanging out, made me miss the good old high school days!
